Teach English in Yaojiagou Zhen - Baoji Shi

The ITTT: I am an English teacher in a training institution in China. In the more than ten years when I was engaged in English education, I had a lot of harvest and reflection. In terms of harvest, first of all, I deeply understand the prevalence and importance of English. Secondly, through years of teaching, I have a certain understanding of children's psychology, especially children's psychology, and can conduct different styles of teaching according to children's personality characteristics. Because of this, I have accumulated rich teaching experience. However, after leaning our courses, I found a lot of things that need to be improved and corrected in my teaching. The first and most important thing is to keep a passion for work. Only when I am passionate about my work can I be willing and put more effort into it. I think this is the biggest feeling I get through this study. The second major achievement lies in the classroom management of students and the mobilization of children's enthusiasm. What impressed me most was the application of game teaching.In my class, I also used a lot of games. But not every game gets the results I want. I think this is where I need to work hard in class management. Is this game suitable for students? When do they play? How do they do that?I think if I do all these preparations well,the children's enthusiasm and participation in the game will naturally increase. The profound reflection on teaching methods comes from my third feeling of the course. My relationship with students has always been friendly and close. However, because of the use of English textbooks as our teaching materials, I have serious backwardness and single problems in teaching. In terms of teaching objectives, the four abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing are not comprehensive. Often, students' listening and speaking are ignored because they focus on speaking and practicing grammar. Reading ability training is also limited to reading of textbooks. But in the writing aspect, basically has not carried out. I realized very early that students' reading and writing abilities are also very important. But I don't know how to teach and strengthen them. In this course, there are not only detailed theoretical guidance, but also detailed steps and examples of each class. It makes me more clear about the goal of students' ability cultivation and has a very intuitive step on how to conduct teaching. In Unit 6, the second class in video is the level I want to achieve. Reflecting on my own class, I have not done enough in the following aspects. The first is the preparation of teaching aids. Now I rely too much on PPT. In addition to flash cards and teaching aids required by games, I also need to make more efforts in the content arrangement and teaching aids preparation of the two links of engage and activate. Another thing I need to pay attention to is correcting students' mistakes. In my previous teaching, I would correct their mistakes at any time. And the use is very direct “No”! Although I never scold them, students are still afraid of making mistakes, so they will not actively participate in the class. Now I feel that error correction is also a kind of knowledge. I need to judge time and use indirect euphemisms. Let the students can accept happily, at the same time won't affect their self-confidence and enthusiasm. Through the study of this course, I really benefited a lot. Therefore, what I want to do next is to continue to develop my strengths in the work and gradually correct my shortcomings.
