It is undoubtable that parent’s support plays a crucial role in a child's education. A healthy, bonding, effective partnership between parents and school leads to a significant outcome. Numbers of advantages the children own having parent’s support are higher test scores, low drop out rates, greater likelihood of commencing tertiary education. Thus, researchers prove that, children who usually got their parents involved in studying tend to have better social skills, improved behavior, better adaptation in school, a stronger belief in higher education. Parents can get involved in their children study by many methods. Firstly, they should understand and believe in the importance of education. Children are usually adopt the attitude and viewpoint from the environment around, and in this case, their family. For example, if an elderly member of a family thinks and says that he or she does not value education, the child will be less likely to take education seriously. Secondly, by helping children prepare for school, parents will show their interest and willingness to give the children the support they need. Parents could simply give time to help the kids with homework, prepare school supplies, willing to resolve their problems with the lessons, homework, friends, make sure they have a healthy and balanced living and environment. Finally, the parents should make regular meetings with teachers, whether it is on a phone call or directly in order to know the children’s progress. However, in countries where English is not the mother tongue, many parents found it hard to support the children since themselves know little in some fields of knowledge. Nevertheless, children could be in sprite, gain confidence and feel motivated if parents encourage, give the children opportunities to use and practice what they learnt at school to reality. Or parents could learn with the kids, also. With linguistics, practice makes perfect. Parents could give children learn little by little, so that every grammar structures, vocabulary, or even culture bits could be fully absorbed. Children, or even adults could get anxious or afraid to make mistakes in front of others. Surprisingly, they could be very confident with parents, due to the bonding since they were small. Therefore, parents could build children’s confidence by encouraging them to take risks. The children’s interest could also decide how enthusiasm they would be with the subject. By knowing what they are into, the parents can help motivate kids to learn and discover in the field they are found of. Parents should know by heart, there is the difference between instruction and education. Instruction is telling and demonstrate how and what to do, while education is guiding, and let the children be independent. At home, parents should play a vital role by encouraging the kids to solve the issues his or her self, instead of telling them what to do. How parents choose to reward or punish the kids also play an important role. Activities reward, social reward, or give the child what he or she really want are suggestions for a way to reward children if they make progress. In my personal viewpoints, how parents react and involve in the student's study are extremely necessary. Every child deserves to be educated, and home is where it should begin.
