The first unit starts with a course introduction and how it works, followed by the options the participants have with the tutored and non-tutored version. It presents the aims and objectives of this course and what participants will gain upon completion. It lists the majority of the terminology used throughout the course and in the TEFL world. This unit provides with a definition of a young learner and it briefly mentions the differences in methodologies and approaches between teaching young learners and teaching adults, on which this course will expand in its subsequent units. Lastly, it presents the prospects for TEFL teachers who decide to add these skills to their qualification, or even specialize in teaching young learners.
