In this unit I learned some very important and standard terminology for teaching English as a Second Language (terminology both from UK and US). This unit clarifies what it means to be a Young Learner (ie: kids ages 5-13), and the best resource is the experienced teacher and not the behavioral psychologist or pedagogical researcher. There are more doors that open to you if you are able to also teach young learners. Some prospects can be teaching at a language centre where the students come to the centre, another prospect is teaching at a private or state school, in this case you have a contract with them and a salary, or another option could be to teach privately 1 on 1 where you are your own boss and determine your own hours. It can be very rewarding to teach young learners as they tend to be more curious about new things and are usually more lively and enthusiastic about learning.
