Unit 5 focuses on managing the classroom. It considers the teachers role, building rapport and trust, organizing students, and when necessary discipline. Eye contact, gestures, and tone of voice are all important physical aspects of managing a classroom. Grouping of students should consider multiple factors in order to best achieve learning, and a teacher should be aware of teacher talk time versus student talk time when planning activities.
