This unit focused on class management, i.e. how a teacher can effectively manage a class. It teaches on how we can use eye contact, gestures and voice effectively in the classroom without trying to make the atmosphere tense and uncomfortable for learning. It also teaches us on how we can group students stating the pros and cons of each grouping and pointing out that the grouping we choose will depend on certain factors such as class size as well as the type of activity. It also dwelt on classroom arrangement stating some important factors the teacher has to take into consideration when arranging the class e.g. student’s personality, age, nationality etc. Most importantly it teaches on how teachers can give instructions to students and check that the students have understood without ever having to ask “have you understood” as it is not a good way to check. Lastly, it dwelt on problem behaviors and the reasons for such behaviors at the same time giving the teacher clues or tactics on how to avoid and tackle such behaviors without ever making students feel threatened or scared.       I found this unit quite interesting because it tackles many difficulties teachers encounter in class management. It proposes the best ideas that will be effective if applied by teachers. However, what ever classroom management strategies we choose to employ we have to ensure that the general atmosphere of the classroom remains conducive for learning ǃ
