Unit 2 covers the topic of teaching and learning. First, it covers the theories of learning and development theories. I liked the summary of maturation which is presented. The differences between native language and 2nd language acquisition is also explained. Following the Harper’s ESA model already learned in the TEFL course, this unit goes into adapting the ESA in teaching children. Finally, it breaks the teaching of children into two age groups: first, five to nine year olds; second, nine to thirteen year olds.
