A lot of the material presented in this unit was completely new to me, particularly the various syllabi defined, structural—based on sequencing by grammar complexity, functional-notional—based around communicative purpose, learner-led—where students have input to the design and situational—based on the situational needs rather than grammar. I will also immediately make use of the constructive advice on designing a syllabus provided.
