When parents and children sign up for tutoring classes, they make a lot of comparisons. Some of them decide to go to a school which teaching in groups, while the other send there kids to a school teaching one to one. There are a lot of difference between teaching one to one and groups. Different decisions reflect aspects that parents care more about. For students, obviously, in a one to one class he or she can get more attention from the teacher, And also get more chances to practice. Teaching one to one is the most efficient way to check for deficiencies and improve student’s ability. Certainly, the student will get more attention from the teacher then in a group setting, especially a large group of mixed ability. But one to one teaching has a drawback that can not be neglected. The interaction only between teacher and student, student have no chance to interaction with his or her classmates. In a group teaching class, student could have more activity with other students, and students learning together could help them to face competition and push them to study hard. For teachers, it seems easier to teach only one student at a time compare with teaching a group of students. To teach a group of students, teacher has to understand the different situations of each child before class, then find the best way to ensure that most students can learn the course content without feeling too easy or too difficult. If a student can not keep up with the learning speed of most students, teacher needs to pay more attention on him or her. More than this, we all know that, every student may have different questions. So that, teachers who teach a group of students may spend his or her time on helping students to solving their questions one by one. And if the class is over, the students will go home with their unsolved questions. It is hard to say that teaching in group is a most efficient learning style. This problem can be perfectly avoided by one to one teaching. the teacher's energy is completely on the child, and, we only talk about what the child do not understand, this will reduce a lot of waste and unnecessary time consumption. One to one teaching, the teacher will do enough to prepare for teaching, they will observe the child's every move at any time, mobilize the child's enthusiasm, purpose, and plan to teach for a long time. Teachers will observe the status of students at any time to make adjustments. Teaching one to one is more effective, and requires higher teaching results. Teachers have to guarantee the quality of teaching while make sure one-to-one teaching is not boring at all. Teaching one to one and group are quite different. Certainly they both have there advantages and disadvantages for both student and teachers. It is important as teachers that we both adapt and use the skills we have to make both one to one and group learning interesting and efficient.
