Managing a classroom depends on both the teacher and the class. I consider myself to be confident, well-spoken, and not unintimidating, and I believe that if I prepare my lessons thoroughly and am consistent with my behavior, I should have few problems managing the class. Again, it is extremely important for the teacher to be respectful- know the students' names, respond to their concerns, and be well prepared for class. Many of this lesson's specifics depend on the class- the age, the level of English fluency, their general behavior. Certainly maximizing conversation and group-work increases English-language use and engagement, but must be balanced with discipline and the necessary teacher-instruction.
