There are three factors in language learning. That’s vocabulary, grammar and function. The process of learning won’t focus on only single one factor. Taking all of them into consideration is an applicable way to deliver an interesting class to avoid tediousness. Of the three factors, grammar is basic. Vocabulary learning can be combined with it. Function can add more meaningfulness in learning. On the other hand, to achieve the function of language, grammar and vocabulary are unavoidable. Otherwise, the learning is meaning less. With the acknowledgment of the three factors, teacher can increase the learners’ production of language. The language learning is like the planting of trees. First, learners set up the tree trunk-known as grammar. Then leaves-known as vocabulary and function, can grow from it. Thus their knowledge is expanded. During the process, teacher’s function is like fertilizer. They facilitate the growth of knowledge. Different types of teaching techniques are different fertilizers. Only appropriate techniques should be considered. So a good teacher can offer different EAS type during teaching to better help the acquisition and production of language.
