The focus on people’s confidence and assurance is very relevant in today’s world, especially to students studying variety of disciplines. There might be young people attending universities, children studying in schools and adults practicing different courses or getting additional education. They are all students and many of them have a problem: Lack of confidence during their studies. This, in turn, hinders students’ field of acquired knowledge. A trained teacher has to realize this acute problem and distinctly know that it needs to be taken further. I plan to present some ways to solve the previously mentioned problem. The psychological conditions of students represent the important factor for learners of different ages. The main problem of the learning process especially for young people is that many kids are shy and feeling bad about themselves. The psychological support of the teacher is necessary for such students during their studies. I would like to draw an attention to emphasizing the progress of every student to setting goals and reaching them together. A teacher also shouldn’t compare students to each other, only it’s possible to highlight the personal results of the student at the current period of the time and to compare it to the result in the beginning of studying. Everyone has their point of view, sometimes it’s incorrect. Thus not to kill the student’s confidence, but to increase it, the right way is to let the student find the right answer using teacher’s hints, afterwards to praise him/her. It stimulates the students to study with a great desire. This helps students decrease their fear of expressing their thoughts even so they are not right and look awkward. Therefore, the teacher’s goal is to overcome the lack of confidence of the students during the lesson and the learning process in general. I would like to consider this problem in the context of the planning and organization of foreign languages. While the language barriers are a problem for most of the students, it’s becoming more and more possible to find and apply different approaches for teachers. It’s harder for a shy and insecure student to cross the language barrier. It’s so important not to be afraid to speak and develop students’ speaking skills without fear of making mistakes. It depends on the atmosphere in the classroom and the way of correcting students’ mistakes. All the points listed below are the teachers’ duty. The following points are a shortlist of techniques for creating a situation of success and building students’ confidence. 1. Establishment of an emotional contact between teachers and students. It might be a positive connection about saying the students’ names, showing empathy and providing support. Cheering students up if they are confused and explaining the task again is also helpful. If the student makes so many mistakes during the speaking, the teacher must not stop the student and correct every mistake. The teacher should feel this norm in order to build the student’s confidence. 2. Goal setting and specific instructions. Students have to focus on the goal during the lesson process in both general and specific terms. That means following the path to achieve the main goal of studying and also they having a clear understanding of their actions at every stage. If a student clearly knows what he/she needs to do it’ll bring him/her confidence. 3. Providing reasonable feedback to students. Focusing on what and where they are currently and encouraging them to do things. They must clearly see the positive results of the learning process, in order for them to understand their weaknesses and be motivated to work on them. 4. Using various ESL activities and relying on the students’ level and age. The teacher should give the opportunity where everyone can be creative and successful. In closing it would be useful to note, that the teacher is capable of building confidence of all the students, increasing motivation to study, making the lessons more interesting. To teach the students how to work effectively together in pairs or teams, to listen carefully and ask questions.
