Teaching or introducing new grammar, language structures or new vocabulary can be a daunting tasks for a new class to be taught by a new teacher. From my experience, what I do is focusing on the vocabularies each student already know and try to correct their mistakes before teaching them new words because student's receptive vocabulary is much more than the words they know and often use.
