This unit covers the relationships between learners and teachers, what makes a good teacher and a good learner, the different language levels and how the different ages (adults and young children) differ from behaviour in the classroom to the motivation it takes to learn the English language. From this unit I learnt that there are certain aspects and ways of handling and taking control of the classroom when needed. There are certain places for certain roles of a teacher, a teacher must know not to take advantage of their position in the classroom, they are there to help learners when struggling and to encourage students to achieve to the best of their ability. A teacher is someone who cares about his/her students and most of all is someone who loves teaching. I also learnt that a teacher needs to have certain qualities of being patient and kind - a teacher needs to be sensitive towards correcting students and needs to know how to avoid offending and affecting the students motivation. A teacher needs to be there for his/her students, all of the time.
