This unit points out the many different roles a teacher will play in the learning of their pupils. When applied, this allows for effective strategic development and analysis of students' learning processes to better teach a variety of students at different levels of understanding and willingness. Self-evaluation is only as effective as the areas monitored; so an understanding of the roles of an effective teacher gives areas of observation and monitoring that may not have been obvious before.
