In this lesson, it is made clear as to how a good teacher should conduct themselves. One problem that is mentioned quite frequently is how teacher focused learning needs to not be the main focus, but instead we should rely on student focused learning. Meaning a teacher should not be talking for 90% of the class, but instead model for the class good English techniques and then have activities readily available where the students can apply what they have learned. Students should not feel ashamed to ask questions and the teacher should always be ready to clarify any problems the students may have had regarding the lesson or any mistakes they might have made in oral or in writing. This lesson also covered a myriad of reasons as to why a student may be interested in ESL such as living in an English speaking country or to further their own careers. I think that this lesson really helped to clarify the different levels each students has in their journey to fluency.
