This unit gives us lessons on how to teach vocabulary, grammar and functions. It first of all briefly states the role of each in the English language then goes deeper to talk about factors to consider before teaching them as well as the ESA methods we could make use of for each. However, whatever method we choose to employ, we need to think of which is most appropriate for our class as well as the language that we want to introduce. The unit also gives some great techniques we could employ when teaching each language items as well as some activities for the engage, study and activate stages. There is also a sample ESA lesson for each language item which one could refer to. The samples however good they maybe, I think may not be very suitable for young learners because the activities proposed are mostly suitable for adult learners and so teacher will have to think of other effective activities suitable for their young learners.
