The present continuous tense is used to refer to an ongoing activity/time, such as right now, this year, etc. It usually has "ing" at the end of the verb. The present perfect tense is used to indicate an action that occurred which is indefinite and has an effect on the subject, or an activity that has occurred several times with the possibility of occurring in the present/future. It also refers to an action that began in the past and is still happening presently. The present perfect continuous is used to show actions that began before and are still happening presently.
