I believe that knowing how to implement the right teaching skills can have an immense and direct impact on how we deliver our lessons and how our students absorb them. These skills serve as guidelines for developing and improving teaching abilities, which will help to set the path for the rest of the course. Learning teaching skills can be very helpful, especially for new and inexperienced teachers. When comparing lessons, as we were able to see in unit 10, it is clear that teaching requires more than just following a textbook, and that the attitude and approach the teacher takes can drastically change the perception of the students towards the lesson. Therefore, teachers should always try to develop a good relationship with their students, as this will also benefit the learning process, as confident and happy students are more likely to be willing to obey and cooperate with their teacher. By making use of techniques such as the ESA method, we can ensure we deliver high-quality lessons, and tailor them to our students' needs. This method provides valuable tips, such as steps for selecting appropriate content, the best ways for managing classroom activities, and how to choose the correct approach for our lessons. All these points greatly influence the learning process by decreasing the learning curve and adapting the materials and activities to the interests of the students. Making lessons more active and group-based helps teachers to reduce stress during class and enhances group integrity. Implementing these small changes gives the students an immense sense of worth and appreciation from their teachers, which allows developing a good rapport. We can notice how teaching abilities influence learning by observing how it gives teachers the necessary tools for breaking down complex topics into small bits of information, organize pair and group activities, adjust workload, and supply complementary materials, which in return, facilitate their students' comprehension of the subject. Methods like the ESA approach, teach us how to adapt our ideas to the lessons, by doing this, we can become less dependent on textbooks, and instead experiment with other approaches to complement our classes. Another useful recommendation is the implementation of games for learning purposes, such as Pictionary, hangman, and memory. These kinds of activities promote space for teachers and students to bond, while also encouraging student talk time and decreasing teacher talk time. One of the main benefits of using games to complement our lesson is that they can help us create a safe environment for improving language acquisition. I consider that the best approach for language acquisition is the natural method and that, as teachers, we should try to immerse our students as much as possible in the targeted language. Some of my favorites immersion methods are using music, movies, and TV shows. In many cases, the teacher represents the only contact and model a student has to the language, and therefore, it is a good idea for teachers to benefit from the use of multimedia material, this gives them the opportunity to expose their students to different accents and expression, which otherwise, they might not get to experience outside class. In summary, we can conclude that teaching skills strongly influence and facilitate the learning process, by equipping teachers with essential tools to ease language acquisition.
