How to be a good teacher? I am sure many teachers will ask this question.As the old saying goes''A candle lights others and consumes itself". Teacher is a important role of students' almost whole life,what you teach will affect the way of students' thinking. In recent years there has been more emphasis upon 'student-centred'lessons,as opposed to 'teacher-centred'.The reality is that some stages of a lesson will be more centred on the teacher and others will be very much more centred on the students.This will largely be dictated by the type of activity concerned.If we are able to make these changes appropriately our effectiveness as teachers will be greatly enhanced. A good teacher should be kind and patient.Because you are the tutor of students.This role will often be employed when students are working individually or in pairs and need some guidence and support,also when students do sth really hard,the teacher can encourage them and give them some good advice.But care needs to be taken to ensure the teacher gives equal attention to all students and to avoid intruding too much. A good teacher should really love teaching.Only you love teaching,you can pay more attention to your work,and always want to do a good job,always want to find some creative ways to use in your class.Also teacher is a manager of the class,the teacher would normally be standing at the front of the class giving explanations,reading aloud etc. A good teacher is able to motivate learners.Sometimes the students will lose thread of what they are trying to say or become stucks for ideas,when this happens,the teachers need to decide what to do about it.When we motivating,we want to help,but we have to be careful not to take the initative away from the students.Helping students fina a good way to learn and think. A good teacher should be lovely and entertaining.The atmosphere of the class also is very important.How's the class depends on how’s you teach,so there are so many ways to teach,just need to more creative and active. A good teacher has a good subject knowledge.The teacher is the fount of all knowledge on English grammar,vocabulary and pronunciation,and in these areas they have particular responsibility and authority in the eyes of the learner. A good teacher should be able to involve in all students equally throughout the lesson.The teacher may wish to participate in the lesson as an equal,not as a teacher.Being able to liven activities up from the inside of the group as opposed to promoting from outside of the group.But it’s important not to just focus attention upon yourself. A good teacher should be able to correct students without offending them or affecting their motivation.Sometimes students will make some mistakes,the teacher should try to give help and individual attention where necessary.Give them a chance to correct and tell them what’s the mistake.Therefore,a good corrective way is very important. As mentioned above,there are so many ways to be a good teacher.But I believe that we can do more about what we teaching.Anyway,let’s always work hard for it, then you will get your achievement.
