There are four present tenses. These are the present simple; the present perfect; the present continuous and the present perfect continuous tenses. These can be identified bin sentences by the parts of speech that form clauses or sentences. eg. The present simple tense in the affirmative is usually formed in the following way: subject + base form and -s or es when the sentence is in third person. The perfect present and perfect present continuous tenses were difficult for me to clearly differentiate at first. I have now learnt how to do so.
