Nowadays, English is a worldwide spoken language. It is not only used as the second language in many counties in the world, but also applied directly in lots of areas of jobs such as communicating, writing emails, making plans or negotiating with customers etc… English is considered as the key of success for people who can use it fluently, especially for a student’s future career. There are at least three reasons that English affects a student in his/her job in the upcoming. I’d like to point out at the beginning that English brings students a lot of chances to get a good job. The way I see it in my country- Vietnam, English is one of the first-rate criterion for the employers to judge and choose an excellent candidate. For a student who is good at English can be highly judge as a smart and adaptable person in many situations. If candidates are about level in ability, the advantage will be lean towards the person who is best in English. For the second reason, when a student is proficient in English, he/she can have more options to work in industries such as aviation, travel, economies, computing etc… For those fields English is not a compulsory element, having certain knowledge of English will be one of his/her remarkable advantages over those who did not take English course seriously. English can be considered a passport as well as a strong foundation to have a stable job with high salary. Thirdly, English has good influence on a student’s future career is that bring opportunities for a student approaches the workshops, international events or international organizations where English is used as the common language to communicate. For examples, English is the official language of The United Nations, NATO, The European Free Trade Association… In a similar case, a student who is good at English will be surely the first candidate in a company to join and attend in those important events. This will help a student has a lot of self-improvement and promotion prospects in the future. By interacting to foreign customers, a student can get more confidence and establish good relationship with others and leaders in company. For the further influence of English, it’s important for a student to enrich his/her life by reading English books to know more about the world outside, get more information. For instance, there are over one billion webs are written in English. With English, a person can make new friends easily. To demonstrate, a person with good English will be confident to communicate to foreigners easily, he/she will have interesting conversations, learn and share experiences together or when a student goes traveling, he/she can read the guide books in English and ask the directions. To draw a close, I’d like to say that English has great influences on a student’s future career.
