I have gained a deeper understanding of the grammar of english language, and I think I am better able to explain it to people. I have also gained a deeper understanding of the phonetics of english, especially the symbols used to represent sounds, as well as intonation. I have learned a lot about lesson planning from putting together lessons throughout the course. When I teach english in the future, I will be sure to generate the students’ interest before starting the lesson. I have learned a lot about creative and fun ways to let the students practice what they have learned, and I hope to use these methods in my future classes. Many of the group work games sound like they would be useful in a class. I have also seen more clearly how important it is for the teacher to establish a good relationship with the students and be viewed by the students as friendly, enthusiastic, and respectful. The unit with the DVD really impressed this upon me. I will try hard to be enthusiastic and respectful when I teach english.
