One thing I have gained by taking this course is the realization that with determination and persistent effort, success can be achieved! It has been a long time since I have done any schooling that was so challenging and time consuming. Yet I know that teaching efl will require the same determination and effort and I have prepared myself to follow through until my goal is reached. I can't wait until I am comfortable in my new field! Watching the video in Unit 10, I realized how much I am going to love teaching english. That unit truly made it real for me.
Another thing that has become clear to me throughout this course is how important examples are when teaching new concepts. Yes, lots of examples, repetition, and practice is what it takes for me to really understand something, and I will be sure to provide that for my students. Also,when coming back to a topic later, it is always easier to understand. So I won't get frustrated if things aren't grasped fully by students the first time. I will just make a point to revisit it in a future class. I am not sure if I will be teaching children or adults, online or in a classroom setting, but I will definitely use the tools, suggestions and resources that have been provided here!
