I have gained a great deal from this course. To begin with, I have learned what it takes to make sure that speaker of another language will feel comfortable and engaged with the education they are receiving. I have always wanted to be a teacher that strives to make the lesson engaging, and I feel that this course has provided so many tools that will allow me to make the lessons as appealing and educational as possible. I have learned how to deal with various types of students, different types of learners, and know how to handle a variety of situations, when and should they come up. Lastly, I feel that I have become more confident in my english ability as it pertains to teaching. Obviously the teacher needs to know what they are teaching, and I feel that this course gave me the solidifcation I need to be able teach confidently.
I plan on moving to japan within the next year teaching english, and the tefl certification will be so helpful in preparing lessons and knowing how to deal with the classes that I will be given. I know that everything that I have been taught will come in handy and will be incredibly helpful. I will try to utilize everything that I have learned when I go overseas. Even now I am using what I have been learning as I am an english tutor for a Ukranian couple. I have already begun to use these lessons to facilitate these meetings. I know that as time passes, they will only be more helpful.
