I have been teaching esl classes at small academies in South Korea for over three years...

I have personally gained a greater understanding of the english language...

Although I have been teaching for quite awhile, all my knowledge has been culled from other people's teaching ideas/experiences as well as my own observations and successful or failed attempts...

Before I took this online tefl course, I had thought most of efl teaching would be intuitive...

I did not realize how much of the english language I had either forgotten or have never learned especially the grammar...

For three years I have been taking several courses to improve my teaching skills and I have to say that most of them are totally focused on the theory and they didn't actually teach me how to be a better teacher or know better how to tackle the issue of teaching the contents of the english subject...

Overall I have gained a better understanding of the english language (I don't just know it, I know about it), the materials and teaching techniques needed teach it, what my students and I could possibly bring to the classroom, and the dynamics of all of us interacting with each other and the materials in a teaching/learning english environment...

There are an overwhelming amount of things that I have learned from this course...

Though a definite challenge at times (especially grammar review) I am so thankful I took this course...

When I signed up for this class, I'm sure I was just like most people...

The most important things I have learned from this course include understanding basic grammar as well as how to plan lessons...

This course has been harder than I had anticipated primarily because as a native english speaker the complexity of the language is usually not analysed, we simply take it for granted...

From this course I have learned a lot about teaching english as a foreign language which I will definitely use in my private english classes that I will start in January...
