Before taking this course, I was excited, and a bit overwhelmed. When I first applied to be an english teacher in South Korea the tefl course was not required to get a position, yet I wanted to be as prepared as I could be before entering a classroom. As and Economics major, you definitely not skillfully equipped to teach english as a second language. I wanted to give students the best possible english education, even from a new teacher such as myself. So I decided to take this 120 hour tefl course all the way back in April of this year. As I was researching on the internet, which tefl course to take, I found that the 120 tefl course was the best fit for me. This course included an in depth view with english grammar which I felt was the most valuable segment of the whole course. I relearned some grammar points as well as learned some entirely new grammar structures. As a native english speaker you don't put titles on countable nouns or past perfect tenses. You just speak the language that you've always known since you were young, reflexive instincts is what I would call it. I've gained so much knowledge of my own language that I can bring inside a classroom. With the last task given from this unit for researching a topic, I chose difficulties that South Koreans have with the english language. This was an eye-opening assignment that has made me even more aware of the difficulties that South Korean esl students face. These units will continue to be a invaluable resource that I will take with me no matter what career path I end up taking. I am glad that I invested the time and effort into taking this tefl course
