This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
There are many things I have gained from this course. One thing is to capture and make my own the way a teacher thinks. How I need to present myself to the class. How to make the class interesting from the start (engage the student), then go on to present and teach the material (the study phase), and finally, get the students to use what they learned (the activate stage). There are many details that I learned in each unit, but overall I feel I am ready to stand in front of a class (or sit on the floor with the little ones) and teach the english language, and play games in english and deal with anywhere from one student to a large group of students. I think this course has also helped me gain confidence that I have the information I need in each unit to face these situations and make sure each individual comes out of class better than they came into the class. I plan to put into action the lesson plans, ESA, boomerang ESA, etc. and to incorporate more games and role plays. children love to play. Adults like to talk. Meeting these needs as they learn and use english makes the class time fun and interesting. Having accomplished the course and finally having the tefl certificate makes me happy to be able to say ´´I did it!´´.
