In order to explain what this course taught me it makes sense to go over what I already knew. I had previous experiences teaching because I was a peer instructor for a class at my university, and because I've spent the past four summers working as a camp counselor. But what this course taught me was how to operate in a classroom setting as the person that everyone looks to for guidance. It also gave me the specifics I needed about teaching english as opposed to any other subject. I was given a run through of some concepts about the english language that I had no previous exposure to, despite using them in my everyday speech. I think the two most important things I learned from the class were 1)These details about english I didn't know before and 2) How to teach an english class.
