The most important thing I have gained from the ITTT tefl course is how to how to put together a decent lesson plan. Understanding the different stages of class (engage, study, and activate) has allowed me to figure out how, when, and what to teach during my classes. I have also learned that the build-up to an actual lesson may sometimes be more important than the lesson itself. Engaging the students is important because if you do it properly, they will pay attention for the entire time. If you lose the students interest then it maybe hard to get it back.
