This unit examines the various physical aids a teacher will commonly use in his/her classroom and their respective functions. Visual aids can assist in the memorization process and may help engage/stimulate students. Videos/DVDs/cassettes as well are effective in attracting student attention and engagement but should be used only with a purpose-not just for the sake of playing one. OHPs and IWBs can be effective tools for creating an engaging lesson but require a degree of preparation and tech-savvy to operate.
