It was good to be able to compare the lessons and to know that they did not need to know the meta language at this point. The difference that attitude made to the outcome of the lessons was oblivious and demonstrated how important this is for effective teaching. The use of pictures gestures and mine was a subtle way of extending the student vocabulary. The pictures were also well used to expand and explain the actions that the teacher
wanted to use.
