Unit 11 introduced receptive skills which are the skills of reading and listening. These two skills as well as the productive skills of speaking and writing that were briefly mentioned are all equally important. As a teacher we should try to incorporate all of these skills into our lessons to have a more balanced approach. This unit taught me how important it is when choosing your lesson topic to keep in mind the interests of your students and to use a variety of topics over a period of time to keep interest up and keep students engaged.
