In my country, Turkey, the students get english lessons when they are at primary school 4th grade. But if you study at a private school, they begin to get english lesson at nursery school. Likewise I began to learn english when I was at 6th grade. Since then, I have been studying english as a second language.
These english lessons were very intensive as grammar, video, listening and speaking when I was at high school. After that, I studied english language and literature at university and had Master of Arts after university.
When I look at the history of my language learning, practicing, applying and experimenting background, some of the units related with the grammar were kind of revision for me in this course. But for theory, approach and methodology, or process, lesson planning, that course was an excellent practicing area. Especially, the lesson planning practices taught me a lot the way, the process and the design of it.
I believe that making a lesson plan saves the teachers’ and students’ lives in the classroom as it is very practical and well-organized and I am going to plan my lessons in detail to save me and my students’ lives. In addition to that, if I plan my lesson in detail, I know for sure that my lessons will be useful, efficient, and effective for my students which are a must for me to teach the target language effectively and motivate them to speak and become self-confident.
