My philosophy in teaching is simple yet applicable. As educator, I believed that teaching is a gift. And I am given that gift to teach people in every race and culture, whether adults or children, to simply impart my knowledge to them. I am an instrument to help them shape their lives and to help them unwrap their gifts.
My motivation in teaching field is ‘love'. In the first place, I have to love of what I am doing so that I can love those people I am teaching. I believed that if I will build my foundation in ‘love' to what I am doing, and ‘love' the people I am teaching, I will be a successful educator. So it is important as a teacher, to always be motivated by love.
The key to unwrap the gifts of the children is to encourage them, to love them, to nurture them, to trust them, and to value them. Treat them as a valuable creation, existing to learn, to explore, to live, and to experience of what they have learned. For whatever things they have learned, they will carry it and live by it, and no one can take it away from them.
As an educator, it is important to be sensitive in every need of my students, to know their weaknesses and their strengths. Spending more time with my students during play time or vacant period will help me to know them more. I will take this opportunity to communicate with them and to build our friendship. It`s nice to be a friend with your students.
Being a positive teacher and having a positive attitude toward my students is good reflection. I believed that every positive word that will come out to my mouth have power. It is the power to strengthen them, to build them and to change them. That`s why, I, as a teacher, I am very careful about careless words or negative words that will bring them down, because it will bring a negative impact to my students.
I should continue to be creative in my teaching so that my students will continue to engage or participate in every activity. I will evaluate my students through giving exercises, short test / long test, and final test. In this way, I can refer to what necessary materials needed for them to use.
Commitment to my work is needed and important to me. It is my responsibility to commit myself in every area to my teaching field. Without commitment I can not devote myself to what I am doing. Commitment to where I am and to what I am doing is necessary.
I will continue to establish a goal towards my self in teaching field. A goal to step forward, to learn more, to explore more, and to achieve higher in order for me to be more effective educator. I will also set a goal for my students. A goal for them to succeed and achieved a higher level of education.
