TEFL Claymont Addition Delaware

I chose to do this course as at the time I was applying for teaching positions overseas. To have a qualification in teaching english in addition to my specialist subject was valued and encouraged, and for some positions, a requirement. However I was successful in gaining a one year teaching contract in New Zealand, which finishes this December. There was less urgency to complete the tefl course, but I still planned to work my way through it and am now glad I have nearly finished it. It has been a good ‘professional development' course as it has made me reflect on my current teaching practices, I have learnt about the technical aspects of the english language, I have also learnt some new teaching activities and games, and have enjoyed improving my own english vocabulary and grammar. In an age when native english speakers english seems under threat due to TV slang and phone text speak, it has been refreshing to revert back to using correct and proper english daily. Some friends and family members however have occasionally been annoyed when I correct their speech! In terms of using this course for its main intended purpose, I am beginning to search again for teaching vacancies in Asia and the Middle East for 2013. Ideally I would like to gain a position where I would be teaching both my subject and a tefl program. Would be great to use what I have learnt from this course and develop my tefl teaching career. I also plan to continue incorporating little language activities and corrections within my current teaching course to ensure and help students to use and develop better english skills for themselves. These will also help if/when I begin teaching a tefl course. I may also look into possibly working with Language Institutions here in Christchurch to maybe assist or teach an evening english course. Have a lot more options now thank you.
