Now at the end of this course I feel I have learned a great deal about the english language which I had either forgotten or never learned in school, but most importantly I have learned various teaching skills which will help me in the future when pursuing a job teaching english. I believe I can apply the skills I’ve learned here to other areas as well and not just teaching english..
I’m journalism major and I’m graduating in June. Throughout college I haven’t delved too deep into english grammar, so I think this has been excellent for me. I have also been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study and live abroad in Costa Rica and thailand. While there I took the opportunity to do some volunteer teaching and I really enjoyed it. After I graduate I’m hoping to teach abroad in china to experience more of Asia and see how I will do with my first official round of teaching english abroad. I love meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, and hopefully I can do a good job in sharing my own language and culture with others in china.
Overall I feel that the course was well structured and covered necessary subjects teachers should know in order to enter a classroom with the confidence to begin. I think this course has given me a good foundation for teaching english abroad, and now I can only build off of it.
