I personally was reminded of what a tremendous role a teacher can have. teachers are not only educators, but mentors and role models as well. Our actions and words play a critical role in a students learning and growing experience. I learned how simple classroom actions can be critical in making an effective learning atmosphere. For example clean boards and how you write can control the focus of the students. I also re-learned grammar since I have forgotten many simple basic rules and ways to teach it more effectively. I found the grammar charts and rules were very clear and helpful. I believe that it will continue to come in handy in my future teaching endeavors. Furthermore, the ESA lesson planning was very helpful in creating better organization and setting a clearer objective. This way, I can focus on one clear objective instead of trying to cover many topics at once. I plan on using my experience with ITTT to improve my teaching methods as an english instructor in South Korea.
