young learners and adults have different learning modes and through understanding how they tend to learn and followed by taking appropriate teaching approaches can make learning effective and efficient. young learners are usually made to study english and very likely by their parents, therefore they are lack of initial motivation. However, young learners tend to be able to pick a language up easily and quickly even without their own motivation and concisions to learn the language, given that appropriate settings and methodology are provided by the school and the teachers. young learners can be motivated and learn effectively during the process through lots of fun games and activities, then soon they will be able to understand, imitate and use the language. Lots of visual aids such as attractive and colourful images, videos can stimulate and help young learners to obtain meanings in no time since they simply enjoy looking at them. On the contrary, adults learners are often more aware of their purpose and benefits of learning english, therefore they are more motivated. Although adults come to the classes with their own purpose and motivation, most of them would also like or need a variety of activities, games and visuals to help them understand meanings, continuously motivated and to learn different language concepts effectively just as the young learners need. However, activities, games and visuals are probably less essential to adults in comparison to young learners because adults have longer attention span, better self-discipline and higher ability to tolerate boredom e.g. silence, reading, self study, lecture. Adults are usually able to think more independently when comparing to children which lead them to questions regarding the activities' purposes, learning aims and teaching methods. It is therefore very important to explain well to adult students the purpose or aim of each activity or make it explicit how they can benefits from doing such activity or game. Adults may be able to learn more happily and effectively after knowing clearly what plans are ahead and the purpose of doing things. However, young learners are almost the opposite, they need not to know the purpose of activities or games as they simply learn during the process without realizing themselves learning, as long as the activities and games are well planned with the right materials. Explaining the purpose of aims will probably bore the your learners and loses their attention, minimum and simple instructions should be good enough. young learners' classroom setting are usually and suppose to be more fun and multicoloured with colourful walls, tables and chairs, cartoon pictures, and equipped with lots of crayons, colour pencils, papers, colouring pages, glue stickers, scissors etc An attractive classroom is the first step to interest the children and to encourage them to stay and learn in the classroom. Unlike young learners' classrooms, adults' classrooms are often plain, academic and practical, colourful rooms are not usually considered to be ideal but distractive. young learners' disciplinary problems are obviously different from adults' but they both can be resolved by using different approaches. young learners will need high level of guidance therefore ground rules and boundaries need to be set and make clear at the initial stage. Adults discipline in the classroom can be improved through establishing good rapport, showing good and reliable examples as a teacher. All in all, respects and consistency with classroom rules and instruction apply to all age of students. The differences in young learners' and adults' learning modes are not to convince who are the better learners or who are easier to teach but to figure out the best methodology to make learning effective and efficient.
