This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I have personally learned a lot. Not having studied for the past 23 years, it started as a challenge to sit down and do the studying. I also have a full time job so I had to find the discipline. At times was stressed that I would not find the time to study. But I found as I put my head down and set a goal to finish a unit by a specific day, and then I could achieve it. I worked consistently through all the modules. I have learned a lot about the english language and actually how complex it is and I feel grateful that it is my mother tongue and I feel privileged that I would be able to teach others to speak english. I plan one day to go overseas and teach. I am a little concerned at what the job opportunities would be as I have no experience. The prospect is both daunting and very exciting. I would like perhaps to be able to start in South Africa where I live, and get some experience as going overseas is more of a long term goal.
