Wow – this course was so much more than I expected it to be. I imagined grammar drills and vague generalities about esl. I got so much more! I have learned about the wide variety of esl language learners, lesson planning, teaching equipment and aids, testing, course materials, methodology, and how to be a better teacher….and grammar! This course will help me from my very first encounter with my students (ice breaking activities, evaluations, etc.) and throughout my entire course with them by helping me plan interesting lessons, finding ways to motivate them, and using more than just the textbook that's provided to me. This course is a great way to jumpstart my teaching experience and I imagine that I will utilize these units for a long time to come!
