I will be honest, when I first started this course I thought it would be easy, just a revision of adjectives, nouns etc. My mother is a teacher and I was always good at english, I thought I would just breeze through this course. However I didn't just breeze through it.
I have gained a whole new respect for my native language and those who choose to conquer it. I'm not sure if I have just forgotten, but I do not recall being taught a lot of things at school that I was taught in this course, or at least in the way they were taught. Some things I just knew and wasn't sure how I knew them, they were second nature. Other areas I simply never understood how much the english language could be broken down and why they say it is the hardest language to learn.
I found this course to be a thorough overview of the foundations of the english language and a fantastic guide to classroom management and teacher to student relationships.
I am currently looking into a program in brazil, either in Curitiba or Sao Paulo, within a language school. Due to brazil hosting the next World Cup and Olympic Games, there is an increase in local need to learn the english language. I previously have worked in the hospitality industry as I love to work with people and provide them with a service where at the end they can go home smiling. I now look forward to be able to send people home with more than just a smile. I am eager to experience.
