From this course, I have learned many things that will help me to prepare for teaching english in the future. This course has helped me to realize that teaching to young and adult learners as well as teaching in a monolingual and a multilingual class is very different and that it is important that I am able to make adjustments to my lesson plans. This course has also opened my eyes to see that there are many class activities and resources that I can implement into my lessons to make the class more entertaining while having the students learn and become better in english. I also think making the lesson plans was a very helpful tool in this course and I will definitely keep in mind to have an engage, study, and activate phase in my lesson plans.
This course has also helped me to review various grammar structures such as the different tenses, auxiliary verbs, passive voice, and relative clauses. As a native speaker, I simply knew how to make grammatically correct sentences but I did not know how to explain why certain grammar was used in a certain way. Now that I have taken this course, I hope I will be able to teach grammar effectively. This course was very organized and structured and I am glad that I took this course to help me to prepare for teaching esl.
