This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Firstly, the grammar part was an excellent and useful refresher course of the grammar lessons I had many years ago at high school.
Secondly, not being a trained teacher, I learnt very useful general teaching skills, which I will be able to apply in one form or another when teaching english, french or German.
In general, I found the course very well structured. The study units were well explained, short and concise. In addition, I had a good tutor whose comments/inputs I appreciated a lot. I could recommend this training without reservations to any non-native english speaking teacher.
I will try to put in action as much as possible when teaching english to migrants in my neighbourhood. Although they are a small group, we unfortunately won’t have a real class room setting with white board etc., thus, I need to be a bit creative with my lesson planning. However, maybe one day I’ll get the chance to teach in a more formal setting in South-East Asia and then I will even more appreciate what I have learnt during this course.
