I feel like I have personally gained a lot from this course. It's interesting to think about english in the way that I did while taking this course. It has always been so natural, so to see different constructions and why they are the way that they are was interesting. I personally have been learning japanese and having been learning in that way; but then to see english like that was different for me. I hope that I can use what I've learned to help other people learn. I think also, after students start to use english based off of the constructions that they've learned, they will start to think about it naturally and forget the formulaic side of the language.
It was also nice to see different techniques for teaching a class. I did not expect for the teacher to have a lot of games or group work, but this seems to be encouraged in the classroom, and I wouldn't be surprised if this worked well specifically for learning a language. I hope that I can use different activities effectively in classrooms if I get to plan them.
