I felt that this unit was a lot of common knowledge for me because I have taken language classes before and my japanese girlfriend had taken TOEFL before and she explained to me what all the different english external examinations were. So I felt that I have already had a bit of experience with these terms. In my japanese language classes we had some kind of examination every single class period because there was so much to learn and we constantly had to study and test so we could progress with the language. Evaluating students' progress in language classes are very important because I would not want to move so far forward and then learn that my students have no idea what I am talking about because they got lost four or five lessons ago.
