I have learned that there are many more aspects to teaching english than vocabulary, grammar and reading exercises. Teaching english to non-native speakers of the language brings many challenges and aspects to consider when planning lessons: There are different motivations, expectations, skill levels, learning abilities, learning materials, roles that a teacher has and many other things to have in mind when standing in the classroom in front of the students. In this regard, and in others, too, I have learned a lot from this course which I will be benefiting from during my lessons. The planning of lessons is something which I will definitely practice more in the future, to gain more confidence and to use my creativity to make lessons as effective and fun as possible.
The grammar units were especially helpful because I use english on a daily basis, but it has been a while since I dealt with english grammar on a methodical basis back in high school. The grammar units of this course will be helpful to me when teaching grammar to my students. I am now able to work out a plan on how to teach certain grammar in a certain way so that the students will learn it effectively and with a smile on their face.
Moreover, I wish I had had english teachers when I still was high school student that had made use of the many great teaching ideas and activities that were shown and explained in this course. These ideas will help me a lot for making my lessons fun and to make my students come back with a strong motivation each lesson.
