Overall we feel like our tefl course has taught us a lot. When we started we thought we had a pretty good idea of how to teach, coupled with the keenness to go overseas and teach for a living, but quickly we realized that we were learning a lot with each unit we had gone through. We believe that tefl courses offer people like us a really great opportunities to (online) get the credentials' we need to what we want, Teach! Both not being out of school for long we thought it would be a breeze to do but it has challenged us all of the time and added a really in depth knowledge and appreciation of what it is to teach a class. The techniques instilled in us by completing the first few units soon became evident as we were recalling the information of previous unit to complete further ones; this method/layout of the course was really good because it kept using referring back to our book of printouts of the previous unit to answer up and coming questions. Like teaching itself which needs a certain amount of repetition of words/ideas/techniques we felt like the tefl course presented itself in a way similar to this, so while trying to get our heads around teaching the basics of english we were in fact practicing what we will hope to preach. The content available in the PDF's we receive from tefl is part of our collection of recourses on teaching and will undoubtedly be in our hands when we enter our first class. We think that tefl really covered some really good material and in numerous occasions taught us things about english we didn't know! This was really intriguing and refreshing, we both have a lot of passion about going to teach in Africa and with this course we are no longer just keen but capable of doing so too. With the help that tefl has promised after the completion of our course coupled with are passion and enthusiasm to teach in Africa we can see ourselves constantly referring back to the material used and other recourses outlined in the course to help us be great teachers. To be great teachers we now know that it takes a lot of commitment and planning which was something we had slightly overlooked and had just been relying on our attitude towards teaching to make us fully capable at it, now we know a lot more than we thought we would ever have too to teach in a place like Africa, the result of this is that we are both confident in ourselves to take an efl class. With the knowledge we have gained from this course we both cannot wait to go and do what we have wanted to do so much for the past year, with the confidence and ability to do so!
