TEFL Medellín

First of all, I want to thank Tania, my tutor for being patient with me in times that have been very difficult when I was at my father's side as he passed. This course has helped me focus on what needs to be done and how to go about it in an orderly fashion. Sometimes I felt like I was in grammar school again myself, and somehow understood how difficult the english language can be, and other times felt that it was an exciting challenge to help others learn the language. It has inspired me to move in the forward direction of my goals to teach english to those who desire to learn either on a one-to-one basis or in a classroom setting. I feel that given the options of certain class settings of monolingual or multilingual, I would have to say that I would be happy to try something new as the multilingual classroom setting. However it may be, I am someone who would love any kind of setting just to focus on helping the student be comfortable and learn what they are there to do. I was challenged with my grammar theory once again, as we tend to just take theory for granted after we are conditioned in our language and things just come natural. I am now aware of my speaking and have become more eloquent and clear to those around me in my everyday life. In so saying this, I believe that the 'future teacher' here was the student during this course and that she will always be the student even around her student's! We learn from each other as humans if we wish to open our minds to new things and exploration. I humbly accept my role and will begin by exposing myself to those in my geographical location to start with one-to-one lessons for the foreign people that are in need, whether it be the working professional or the housewife that wants to get out into the world of english speaking people. I already have had offers to teach women in my area here in san diego on a private basis to enrich their speaking skills. I want to focus on women in the long run as in most countries it seems that they are progressively getting brave to go into the professional world and learn.
