This course has taught me a great deal about different forms, methods, and tactics for teaching english. Taking this course has shown me my weaknesses in my teaching methods that I was previously unaware of. It has also helped to re-teach me technical grammatical english, what I mean by that is being a native english speaker is beneficial, but it can also be a drawback unless you learn how to control it. In other words being a native english speaker causes one to miss some of the finer nuances of the language due to the fact that it is second nature, this course has helped me to see and understand this point. I have learned much about tenses and lesson planning. I have also learned how to better assess a class by skill level and pre-gather material. I really enjoyed taking this course and hope to apply this knowledge in my travels abroad and throughout my esl career.
